Alert Labs – Floodie flood sensor

The Floodie flood sensor is a wireless and battery-operated portable water detection sensor and is an add-on accessory for the Flowie or Sumpie sensors, to detect leaks or water overflows when installed in sink cabinets, on floors near water-drawing appliances or on floors near sump pumps or HVAC units.  They can be the sole source of notification-only leak detection but they require a cellular hub system by Alert Labs to work such as the Flowie for water flow, the Sumpie for sump pump failures or Sentree for HVAC monitoring.    If they are paired with a Flowie hub and you have a city water meter, the Floodie water sensors can augment the Flowie’s flow monitoring and leak detection capabilities for even greater protection and faster notification of leaks where sensors are placed around the building.  If paired with a Sumpie, they can be installed on the floor around the sump pit to provide redundant backup alerts to potential pump failures that lead to water on the floor around the pit.  They can also be used in, or on the floor near HVAC air handler secondary drip pans and optional accessories such as the 8 ft. long Flood Cable accessory, can be used to extend the coverage area of the sensor around the air handler.  The normally closed (NC) Wet/Dry Contact Switch Alarm Cable accessory can be used to integrate the Floodie with existing condensation controls for that HVAC unit or for any other normally closed switch, and the 10 ft. long Temperature Cable accessory can be used to alert to a range of temperature issues like freezing pipes or possible food spoilage from failed refrigeration. The Alert Labs Dashboard and Mobile App keep a record of all water events at properties.

Floodie sends alerts to your phone within 3 seconds of detecting water. The sensor also sounds an alarm to help you locate it when you’re within earshot. Plus, assigned users receive notification when the alert has been resolved.  It is easy to activate by simply placing where needed and ut automatically connects to an Alert Labs cellular sensor/hub without WiFi.  24/7 monitoring is $95 per year with one year prepaid at time of order for each Flowie Hub.  There is no monitoring fee for the Floodie sensors.
