Stop wasting water and money on leaky toilet flapper valves in your toilet tank that cause your toilets to run constantly all day or on and off all day in small bursts to quickly refill a leaking tank that is just wasting water down the drain so slowly you can’t hear it!
This even serves as a valued accessory to large homes with many bathrooms that have whole-house leak detection and shutoff systems on the main water supply to the home, because those can shut off the water to the entire home due to toilets that are not causing water damage, but are constantly demanding water to refill toilet tanks with leaky flappers! Having these on your toilet supply lines can help remove those added potential nuisance alarms from the many guest room toilets you rarely use, and don’t think of first as a cause of whole-house leak detection shutoffs.
Tools Needed:
- Small bucket/bowl
- small towels or rags
- adjustable wrench
- size 0 Phillips screwdriver
Instructions:
- Turn off the water supply valve to toilet.
- Flush toilet, and drain tank as much as possible.
- Using a bucket to catch dripping water, disconnect tank supply line from both wall and tank.
- While waiting for the tank to drain, remove battery cover on main case of WCSTOP.
- Install 3 AAA alkaline batteries, included. PLEASE NOTE POLARITY! If any of the batteries are installed backwards, the unit will not operate and could cause damage to the unit. When fresh batteries are installed properly, the unit will chirp and click. When this happens, the unit is fully functional. Replace battery cover and continue.
- Attach supply hose to male threads of WCSTOP.
- Connect other end of supply hose to valve on wall and secure unit to the tank. Ensure the sensor faces towards the front of the toilet. Tighten all fittings.
- Slowly open the supply valve to check for any leaks.
- Once you have confirmed a leak-free installation, open the supply valve all the way.
- WCSTOP will open upon seeing motion. Valve will constantly scan for movement: if no motion is detected, the valve will close; if motion is detected, valve will remain open and restart the timer.
- When the batteries are nearly dead, the WCSTOP will chirp/beep once a minute. If fresh batteries are not installed before completely dead, the unit won’t allow water flow to the toilet.
