These models are primarily used for Water Heaters but can also be installed on the Water Main Supply. When installed on the home’s main water supply, it can turn off the water to the whole house but please be advised that this does not necessarily make it a “whole-house” shutoff system by your insurance company’s definition since it requires hard-wired sensors with limit on distance and quantity of sensors you can add to it.  It is intended to detect leaks under or near the valve and controller only, however far you are able to get the wired sensors from the install location.
